Livery driver killed changing flat tire on I-95

HARRISON - A Bronx livery driver was killed while changing a tire Sunday on Interstate 95, state police said.

Felix Carrillo, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1:30 a.m. crash involving four vehicles.

Police said Carillo's white Lincoln Town Car had pulled over to the southbound shoulder when a Chevy TrailBlazer driven by Jose Juarez-Ochoa of Mamaroneck ran into it.

"The impact sent the front of the Town Car into the operator while he was changing the tire, and he died," said Sgt. Kenneth Cano of the state police in Tarrytown.

The vehicle of a Good Samaritan who was helping Carillo with the tire was also hit, Cano said. That driver suffered minor injuries.

A fourth car hit the TrailBlazer, which stopped in the middle lane after the collision.

No one has been charged in the incident, but police continue to investigate, Cano said.
