SUV Hits Firefighters, Pregnant Women

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City firefighters rushed to help a pregnant woman, but ended up as victims themselves.

Three firefighters were helping the woman with a flat tire on Interstate 435 near Truman Road when they were struck by a passing SUV.

The driver apparently swerved to avoid emergency equipment and lost control.

The firefighters and the pregnant woman were all taken to the hospital with injuries, but are expected to recover.
