Port of Lake Charles, LA Implements Ride-On

May 10 – Facing an increase in tire failures and in the interest of being prepared for whatever storms this season brings, the Port of Lake Charles decided that it was time to use Ride-On TPS tire sealants in its vehicle fleet. The Port of Lakes Charles (Louisiana) is the largest liquefied natural gas port in the U.S. and the 12th largest port in the nation.

James Deculus, the Port’s facilities maintenance manager, noted that the hurricanes of last season were the source of a lot of the debris around the docks causing the greater-than-normal incidences of flat tires.

Like all other ports, Lake Charles operates a wide variety of equipment, and found in Ride-On a solution that it could use in its nearly 200 pieces of equipment. The Port uses Ride-On’s high-speed, over-the-road product (Ride-On CHS) in its light- and medium-duty trucks, and the heavy-duty formulation (Ride-On HDOTR) in its backhoes and other slow-moving equipment. “We started installing Ride-On in April, and so far it is working well,” reports Deculus.
